Packlah was built by a team of business owners from the UK packaging distribution sector. We needed the tools. Nothing existed. So we built them ourselves - and then decided to share them with our peers.
We're distributors and brand owners in the UK packaging space. We've sat in the seat you're sitting in. We've opened the same spreadsheets, chased the same supplier weight data, missed the same deadlines, and watched the same margin walk out the door.
When packaging EPR was confirmed and PPT was already three years in, it became obvious that the sector needed purpose-built tools. The compliance schemes had calculators for their own members. The big consultancies had spreadsheets they'd sell you for £15,000. And independent distributors like us were left building our own from scratch, every quarter, with whatever data we could pull from our ERPs at 3pm on the day before the deadline.
We built Packlah to fix that for ourselves first. Then enough people we know asked if they could use it that we decided to productise it properly and open it up.
The number you owe is a function of your SKU data. The work shouldn't be the calculation - it should be deciding what to do with the answer.
Independent distributors should have access to the same quality of tooling the big groups built in-house. We price accordingly.
No black-box outputs. Every figure traces back to a rate, a tonnage, a snapshot. If you don't understand where a number came from, neither will an auditor.
We talk like the people who do this work, because we are those people. No jargon, no consulting language, no pretending compliance is fun.
Packlah today is the EPR + PPT calculation, customer pricing, quarterly return prep and scenario modelling layer for UK packaging distributors and food brand owners. It runs off your live SKU catalogue, syncs from the accounting, ERP, POS and ecommerce systems you already use, and produces submission-ready outputs for both regulators.
The roadmap is shaped by the same questions we ask ourselves every quarter: how do we get accurate numbers faster, how do we model decisions before we commit, how do we explain the cost to customers without losing them.
Packlah is based in the UK, built in the UK, and focused on the UK packaging compliance regime. Customer data sits on UK-region infrastructure with row-level tenant isolation. We use UK suppliers wherever we have a choice.
We're a small team. You'll generally get a response from one of the founders rather than a support queue. If there's something you wish Packlah did, tell us - that's how most of the current feature set got there.
